Jessie Haines in the super-modified class. The team took the lead at the second stage with a score
of 5 and locked it up with a 7 on the 3rd stage, winning by 26

Team Digger Takes an Exciting 2nd in
RRock Series
Hannibal, Missouri: Super-modified, rockcrawling,
Team Digger finished with a -5, their best score of the season,
taking a 2nd for the 4th in the RRock Series competitions, and 2nd
for the Series. Despite a mechanical break on the second course,
which nearly put them out of the competition, they lost no momentum
as the team ran the final three courses consecutively with negative
scores.
As spotter and team owner, Digger (Chris Endres)
said, "It was a great competition. Courses were well
laid out and Julie was on fire all day! She's definitely learned
how to drive, although we did have a little trouble on the second
obstacle, when she removed most of the oil pan from the buggy!
Fortunately, Neal Tire in Pittsfield came through for us, donating
an oil pan. And with great sportsmanship from our competitors, we
were able to finish out the day."
I just wanted to make my
brother proud!" said Julie (Verheecke) when later asked what she
was thinking, while on a bonus course, sitting atop a 50,000 pound
boulder. "He has his heart and soul into this sport and
I really wanted to ace it for him and our sponsors."
RRock Series is held at Rockport Off-Road Park in Rockport, IL and

Team Digger builds new rig in less than 20 days!
Janesville, WI, September 1, 2006: Team Digger's
new super-modified rockcrawling rig was designed and built in less
than 20 days, an incredible feat accomplished by Chris Digger
Endres. Digger, owner of Digger Customs, builds his buggies from
the ground up, including design, fabrication and assembly.
"Building my new rig in the evenings after work was intense, but
she was ready for the W.E. Rock (www.we-rock.cc) competition at
Hannibal Rocks (www.rorp.com) in Hannibal, MO.", commented Chris.
"You know I couldn't have gotten it done without the help of a
great team, our sponsors and dedicated rockcrawling friends who
jumped in to make it happen. Team driver, Julie Verheecke
said, "After the tough competition at W.E. Rock in Jellico, TN -
where I rolled the buggy a few times - Chris felt we needed to
build a new rig. With the next competition less than three weeks
away, I didn't know if it could be done, but Digger made it
happen!"
Chris crafted his buggy in his garage with hand tools: level, tape
measure, manual pipe bender, 4 1/2" angle grinder, 110V Hobart MIG
Welder, Duracraft chop saw, Snap-On air drill, Dynamics plasma
cutter and gallons of diet Mountain Dew. Check out www.4x4directory.com for a photo
diary of the build.

Team Digger Rocks 12th Annual Sturgis on the River
Davenport, Iowa, June 23rd, 2006: Rockcrawling Team Digger #421
spent Father s Day weekend at the 12th Annual Sturgis on the River,
introducing the team and rockcrawling to an estimated crowd of over
100,000, including enthusiasts from as far away as Florida. They
garnered much interest, as they rocked the crowd promoting Rockport
Off-Road Park's RRock Challenge Series www.rorp.com , and W.E. Rock Eastern
Nationals www.we-rock.cc . Digger,
a.k.a. Chris Endres, team spotter said, "What a great event to
promote rockcrawling, even the Big Schwag from Discovery Channel's
Monster Garage stopped by." And team driver, Julie Verheecke
commented, "We generated a lot of interest in rockcrawling and Team
Digger with this enthusiastic motorsports crowd. I expect to see
that interest turn into more fans at our events."
Sturgis on the River, www.sturgisontheriver.com is
an annual event that draws the largest gathering of motorcycles in
the Midwest. It features over 20 powerhouse bands 'till midnight

Rockcrawling Team Digger takes 1st at SheRock
Rockport, IL: Rockcrawling Team Digger takes their first win of the
season at Rockport Off-Road Park s SheRock event. This was the
third competition for the brother and sister team, and first win of
the season. Julie Verheecke, team driver of Davenport, IA said,
"We're excited that our first win was at SheRock. and that all the
proceeds raised from this event went to the Susan G. Komen Breast
Cancer Foundation (www.komen.org). The
courses were tough, but Ive got a terrific spotter that made it
doable." Chris Endres (Digger) of Janesville, WI built the
super-modified buggy and was team driver until this year when he
handed the wheel over to his sister. I ve found my niche as
spotter, and with Julie as driver, we expect to be at the top in
2006. This win gives us momentum." This was Rockport Off-Road
Park owners, Tom & Debbie Wombles first rockcrawling event to
raise money for breast cancer research. It' s been such a success,
that we plan to make it an annual event. We ve raised over $4000
for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation. And it
was such a fun rockcrawling event
Rockcrawling is the fastest going motorsport
ever, and is considered an extreme sport. A team consists of
spotter and driver that work together to maneuver a rig buggy over
courses that are made of rock, concrete and obstacles such as huge
tires and trees. An example of a difficult course is climbing a
60-degree vertical, which will wipe out maybe three-quarters of the
drivers attempting to conquer it. And of course, all bets are off
for downhill, since some cliffs are 90 degrees or worse, sending
your vehicle into free-fall. All this needs to be accomplished
within the boundary of flags set on the course and time limits. The
lowest score wins, points are added on for infractions like backing
up, hitting a flag, and going over time. |

Rockcrawling Team Digger Announces Female Driver for 2006
Season
Janesville, WI - April 28, 2006: Team Digger #421 has
made a radical team change for this year's rockcrawling season.
Julie Verheecke will drive Team Digger's Super Modified buggy in
the 2006 RROCK Series. Chris Endres, former driver will be the team
spotter. The brother and sister duo are excited about the new line
up for 2006. " Our first event was a tremendous success for the
entire team. The day was full of positive comments from fans and
competitors alike. We are looking forward to taking the points lead
one event at a time" , says the rookie driver. This being the
second time behind the wheel, Verheecke exudes the confidence of a
veteran driver. She attributes that confidence to the superior
skill of team spotter and former driver, Chris Endres. "I' ve built
that buggy from the ground up and know what it can do. After 4
years of competitions it' s tough to hand over the steering wheel,
but I'm confident that this season's success will be like no other"
says Endres.
Debbie Wombles from Rockport Off-Road Park
agrees. Chris Endres has been a huge asset to the success of the
RROCK series. Team Digger has competed in every Super Modified
competition that we've had. His "never die" attitude and contagious
smile our welcomed and appreciated by spectators and competitors. I
believe that Julie will be a great asset to the team. She's got a
very similar personality, and the two of them have a great sense of
respect for each other. This will go a long way toward success of
their team. It's going to be a very exciting 2006 RROCK series and
we wish Team Digger great success." |
